Bright Funds

You can check the status of your donation under My Donations. Once you find the donation you would like to check on, one of these statuses will be displayed:

"Scheduled" - your donation has been received by Bright Funds, and is scheduled to be sent out in our next monthly disbursement.

"Disbursed" - your donation was disbursed to the nonprofit.

"Held" - there was a hitch with the disbursement of your donation, and our team is working on it. You can contact our team using the chat bubble in the bottom corner for more information.

Timeline of credit card/PayPal donations

Here is quick look at the general process when it comes to disbursing donations to U.S.-based nonprofits.

Your donation made on Bright Funds will be queued for disbursement in the following month.

Our team verifies donations and the nonprofit's information.

Your donation is sent to the nonprofit based on the mailing address the nonprofit has registered with <a href="http://guidestar.org" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">GuideStar</a> (a database of confirmed nonprofits). We also offer ACH for nonprofits to sign up for, if they are interested (you can find the article to share <a href="https://help.brightfunds.org/en/articles/5153577-signing-up-for-ach-eft-direct-deposit">here</a>).

1. Your donation made on Bright Funds will be queued for disbursement in the following month.
2. Our team verifies donations and the nonprofit's information.
3. Your donation is sent to the nonprofit based on the mailing address the nonprofit has registered with <a href="http://guidestar.org" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">GuideStar</a> (a database of confirmed nonprofits). To summarize, if you made credit card/PayPal donation in January, your donation will be queued to be sent in mid-February.

Nonprofits receive donor reports with donations from Bright Funds, sharing donor information (if donors opt into sharing their information) and donation details.
