If you donated or want to donate to a fundraiser (a race, special fundraiser, etc.), you can do so on Bright Funds!

While Bright Funds cannot be directly linked to a nonprofit's fundraising page, you can donate or request a match for a particular fundraiser.

Example #1 - Donating to a fundraiser

You want to donate to a nonprofit that has a fundraiser. You can donate to the nonprofit on Bright Funds, and use the "include a designation" option to input the text. Some examples include for the designation may include:

  • Fundraiser name

  • Fundraiser URL (if space permits)

  • Racer information (participant ID, name)

Once the funds are sent to the nonprofit, it will be up to the nonprofit to apply your donation to their fundraiser. Credit card and PayPal donations made on Bright Funds are sent the following month the donation is made (Example: January donation is sent in mid-February).

Example #2 - Matching to a fundraiser

You donated to a fundraiser outside of Bright Funds (ex: on a nonprofit's website), and would like it matched.

If your company offers matching, you can request a match on the page for the receiving nonprofit. Then, using the include a designation option, you can input text that will be shared with the nonprofit. Examples include:

  • Fundraiser name

  • Fundraiser URL (if space permits)

  • Racer information (participant ID, name)

Same as donating to a nonprofit for a fundraiser, it will be up to the nonprofit to apply your donation to their fundraiser once the funds are received. Matching donations are sent following a two-month timeline (Example: January matching donation is sent in mid-March).

You can find the full details on timelines for donations here.
